My name is Lauren. It's quite an unusual name for me given that I have a Colombian mother who should have given me a family name like Josephine or Norma because at least one woman in each generation of her family had that name. I grew up in a town called Sharpsburg where literally no one knows where that is even geographically located on a map. Depending where I am in the world, I will always say that I am either a) from Georgia b) from Atlanta because why not, it's not like someone is not gonna try me down for my facts ( knock on wood ). It's ironic that I am from Georgia because I do not come from southern roots in either side of my family. My parents met and got married in Los Angeles, nearly half of my family lives in California, and I never had a slice of pecan pie my entire life. Deep down I am a city girl who dreams that one day I would live in the city somewhere in the world where I can thrive and live 30 seconds away from a Walgreens, bookstore, yoga studio, and nail salon all on one strip! But hey one day I believe that this dream will be a reality for me! What will I be? Oh I don't know, hopefully I will figure out before I leave my parents home!
